Anker is conducting a global recall of five power bank models due to fire risks. The affected products include the Anker Power Bank (A1257, A1647), MagGo Power Bank (A1652), and Zolo Power Bank (A1681, A1689). Users of these models are advised to immediately stop using them and dispose of them safely. The company stated that risks of overheating, melting, smoke, and fire have been identified in some lithium-ion batteries, and that it has decided to initiate a voluntary recall as a precaution. The recalled products can be identified by the model number on the back or side of the device. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) previously announced that 19 cases of fire and explosion had been reported in connection with a similar recall of model A1263. Anker emphasized that the recalled products should be disposed of at facilities specializing in lithium-ion batteries, and not in regular trash, recycling bins, or in-store battery collection boxes.
