CreateAI has announced its first major AI model called "Ruyi," which it plans to utilize for video game and animation content development. The company stated that it developed this model in just six months, leveraging its existing autonomous driving technology expertise. Meanwhile, some shareholders are opposing this business pivot. In particular, co-founder Xiaodi Hou is demanding to prevent the transfer of the company's remaining cash assets to China and is calling for the company's liquidation to return cash to shareholders. CreateAI's CEO Cheng Lu emphasized that the combination of generative AI and digital entertainment is the company's differentiating factor and will provide long-term growth opportunities. The company is also planning to collaborate with Japanese animation designers to produce animated films and video games.
