생체전자(바이오닉) 비행체 개발의 대가인 독일 페스토가 군집(무리)비행까지 할 수 있는 로봇벌을 개발해 주목을 모으고 있다. 로봇벌은 생성형 인공지능(AI) 설계 기술, 미세전자기술을 사용한 하드웨어적 특징, 통신기술 등을 통해 군집비행까지 실현했다. 로봇 벌은 무게 약 34g, 길이 22㎝, 날개 너비 24㎝다. 이제 관건은 크기를 더 줄이는 일이다. 미소전자기술의 발전은 이를 가능하게 해 줄 것 같다.

단 하루(실제 작업시간은 8시간) 만에 내연엔진차량을 완전한 전기차로 바꾼다는 것은 믿기 어렵다. 일반적으로 이 전환 과정은 몇 주일, 심지어 한달 이상 걸리기도 한다. 하지만 독일 스타트업인 e리볼트(e-Revolt)가 지난 주 이런 급속 ‘내연차량→전기차’ 변환(개조) 기술을 실현했다고 발표했다. 이 회사는 자사의 배터리 설계 및 워크플로우를 통해 환경에 혁신을 일으키는 데 도움을 주고 있다고도 밝혔다.
