The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) analyzed data compiled by research firm MyLogIQ on the average salaries of companies in the Standard & Poor's (S&P) 500 in 2022. The WSJ analyzed average salary data for 2022, and found that a total of 278 companies saw salary increases compared to 2021. Among them, Meta reported an average salary of $296,320 ($387,000) for mid-level employees last year, and Google reported $279,802.

The Irish Data Protection Commissioner (DPC) said Facebook, which has its European headquarters in Dublin, Ireland, violated EU rules that require adequate safeguards to be in place for the transfer of personal data from the EU to the United States. The DPC fined the company €1.2 billion and gave it five months to stop transferring EU user data to the US.

The two unveiled chips will be integrated into Meta's proprietary AI development software, Pytorch, to power not only the Metaverse, but also generative AI tasks such as creating text, images, and video. This is the first time Meta has unveiled an in-house designed chip, demonstrating that the company is staying ahead of the generative AI curve by focusing on the development of three-dimensional virtual world metaverses and AI.
