At this year's CES show, major gaming laptop makers launched Wi-Fi 7-enabled laptops. Wi-Fi 7 is a technology that will be featured in new products released by router makers throughout 2023, but it's making its way into gaming laptops for the first time. One of the biggest advantages of Wi-Fi 7 is that it allows a single device to connect to multiple bandwidths on a router through a feature called multi-link operation. This gives laptops the option to choose which path to send data packets. This means that if the 5GHz bandwidth is congested, you can send data on the 6GHz bandwidth and vice versa. This is especially important when a wired Ethernet connection is not available, and it reduces latency on congested networks.
