5G로 할 수 있는 것: 한국의 사례

In South Korea, consumers and businesses are diving into the 5G-enabled future as 5G networks are more widely available and speedier than anywhere in the world, with 5G linked technologies including self-driving cars and digital factories already arriving in the country. The autonomous cars have a "safety driver" on board, who mans the wheel when cars pull over to pick up and drop off passengers, and in designated children's safety zones.

South Korea is the world's first country to roll out commercial 5G networks and currently has the highest proportion of the population using 5G, compared to 21% in China and 16.5% in the U.S. As of 2021, South Korea ranked No. 1 in 5G download speeds, four times faster than Taiwan and 10 times faster in the US.

5G networks will play a key role in ushering the world into the Metaverse, investing billions of dollars and rolling out new products catering to this emerging digital world. The network will be essential to handle the exponential surge of data traffic as it will host a variety of content and more users.
